Amatsu is a modern adaptation of an ancient therapy from the Japanese martial arts tradition. It is a gentle hands on therapy that realigns soft tissue, bones, the cranio-sacral system and meridian lines. It brings the body back into balance. My background is as a health professional in the National Health Service. Following an injury which left me in chronic pain, I discovered  Amatsu and the treatment enabled me to get back to work and function once more. This recovery led me on a journey into the study of anatomy, physiology and then Amatsu.  I am now a full time Amatsu therapsit with a practice in Cardiff, Wales.

My Skills

Amatsu is an effective treatment for pain in the body, in the joints, back, neck, limbs or pelvis.  It also helps with digestive symptoms, such as bloating, reflux, and IBS. it pays particular attention to the cranio-sacral system and can be effective for headache and migraine.  Further training with the Barral Institute UK and in Denmark has given me skills in Visceral Manipulation, which gently and very specifically addresses the organs of the body, to encourage normal mobility of the viscera and their connective tissue. Combined with Amatsu techniques, it means that the treatments are truly addressing the complex weave of the musculo-skeletal system, the nervous system, the vascular system and the lymphatics so that the changes made in the body are better integrated.

Certified Buteyko Breathing Instructor. There is a huge body of scientific research into how the actual biomechanics of breathing  can effect your health, but  is scarcely recognized in medical and complementary practices. In asthma  research alone,  there are sixteen clinical trials of the Buteyko Method reporting efficacious results. Breathing exercises to improve your health and long life.  Sarah offers private training in Buteyko breathing both face to face and on line.
