Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Patty has been a CranioSacral Therapist for 15 years and can call on an enormous wealth of expertise in three related health fields. She is an advanced licensed Feldenkrais Practitioner, Lymphedema/Lymph Drainage Therapist and has 35 years of skill in Occupational Therapy in Rehabilitation.
"My own journey of self exploration and recovery from major injury led me to these areas of expertise," she says.
Qualifying as a Certified Teaching Assistant in both CranioSacral Therapy and Lymph Drainage Therapy, Patty studied under Dr. John Upledger, Dr. Chas Perry, Dr. Bruno Chikly and Renee Romero RN, LLCC. She also assists in Dr Chikly's Brain curriculum. CranioSacral experience has ranged from working with a broad client range (youngest 1 week old and oldest 99 years old), including individual and multi-hand sessions, mentoring, and treating clients with dolphin-assisted therapy.
Patty runs her own private practice at the 9 Corners Center for Balanced Living in Novato (working closely with the director, Randy Gibson L.Ac, and an inter-disciplinary team) and in San Rafael, California where she intertwines and integrates these skills.
"I get tremendous satisfaction when clients say that the work makes a difference in their lives. They experience greater awareness, improved function and movement toward their range of potential."
Patty favors the hands-on nature of these approaches for their subtle, non-invasive methods.
She has always been fascinated with finding the answers to the puzzles of neurology.
As an Occupational Therapist, she pioneered the development of the WFOT (World Federation of Occupational Therapy) approved Occupational Therapy training program in Zimbabwe and lectured part time at the University of Zimbabwe Rehabilitation Department.
MIND BODY STUDY/FELDENKRAIS EXPERIENCE

She has studied extensively with various trainers and been with Mia Segal and Leora Gaster at MBS Academy since 2005, completing the Master Practitioner Program in 2011 and continuing with the Trainer's Training. Since then she has joined the MBS Academy faculty.
Patty has assisted in or taught workshops and trainings in USA, Thailand, Singapore and Germany and Zimbabwe
She teaches a regular Awareness through Movement (ATM) class and Saturday workshops in Novato, California
In 2015, Patty will be holding MBS workshops in Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa.(For more information on Mind Body Study/Feldenkrais, go to http://www.mbsacademy.org)*Patty gives her insights into the value and benefits of MBS work in an interview at http://www.mbsacademy.org">(Click on "Blog".)VISION
*Patty is pursuing a dream of setting up an MBS Training in South Africa and plans to hold introductory workshops in Gauteng and Cape Town January and February 2015.
"Bringing the work to Africa is very important to me. The opportunities open to people elsewhere in the world should also be available to Africa and other developing regions."
*Patty also wants to broaden the inter-disciplinary nature of the different, but related skills among the practitioners in each of these fields.
