About Me
I earned a B.S. degree in Chemistry from UW-Madison back in 1994, and worked in that field as a lab technician. After three years, I decided to switch gears and become a Domestic Engineer for the next ten years, until all three of my children went to school. Feeling a need to pursue a more flexible career, I then went back to school myself, and became a Massage Therapist in 2007 after attending Lakeside School of Massage Therapy. My Skills
As soon as I finished my formal massage training, I began continuing education in CranioSacral Therapy. Although I find doing therapeutic massage and trigger point treatment very helpful, I was fascinated by this gentle form of therapy and how it works with the meningeal membrane system of the brain and spinal cord (and actually the entire fascial system) to encourage the body to correct its difficulties on its own--it acts as a catalyst for the body. There are many applications for CranioSacral Therapy. I have explored treating nerves to release restrictions from injury, and treating the supportive cells of the nervous system, the glial cells. I look forward to learning still more, especially in the areas of the acupuncture meridians, the immune system, and treating scar tissue using microcurrent.
