About
Brendan became interested in Rolfing many years ago while attending massage therapy school. During this training, he received his first Rolfing Ten Series from a local Chicago Rolfer, which helped heal various muscle strains from college weightlifting. He set a goal to continue mastering bodywork skills at the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute of Structural Integration in Boulder, Colorado, upon graduation.
However, a martial arts shoulder injury required a round of physical therapy. His treating therapists suggested he look into the field as a profession due to his interest in manual therapies. Brendan decided to postpone his Rolfing training to pursue physical therapist assistant (PTA) school instead.
In 2000, he graduated from his PTA program and spent the next two decades specializing in manual therapies and orthopedics. During those years, Brendan suffered multiple accidents and injuries that physical therapy, chiropractic care, and massage were unable to successfully manage. He began experiencing what many of his own clients described: chronic pain that was slowly worsening.
In 2016, Brendan left the healthcare environment to finally pursue his goal of becoming a certified Rolfer, though he first completed a Pilates certification through Polestar Pilates. Both modalities, but especially Rolfing, helped tremendously in restoring his body to a balanced state. Today, the chronic pain that interfered with his life is gone, and he has returned to martial arts. Brendan is now inspired to help others achieve the same lasting relief.
