Valerie Kerekes is licensed by the North Carolina Board while maintaining National Board Certification & American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) membership. She is certified by The Kinesio Taping® Association International as a KTA Practitioner®. She holds a Master's Degree in Health and PE and has retired from the Guilford County School system as a Certified Adapted PE Specialist. Valerie received her training in Myofascial Release from John F. Barnes, PT , and has been an instructor for the Myofascial Release Seminars. She received additional training in CranioSacral therapy from Dr. John Upledger. She has been practicing bodywork since 1971 and incorporated Myofascial Release and CranioSacral Therapy into her treatments since 1994. Valerie is also certified in Cupping and Yamuna® Body Rolling (Table Treatment).
Through Myofascial Release and CranioSacral Therapy, clients have found relief from acute and chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, movement restrictions, fibromyalgia, TMJ, plantar fasciitis, and a host of other conditions.
Myofascial release and CranioSacral therapies are based on belief in the mind/body connection. The body remembers what the mind has chosen to forget. By creating a safe environment, patients are able to unwind the past traumas and release the pain. The client is fully in charge of the process and thereby an active participant in recovery. The mind-body-spirit connection is most important for successful healing.
