About my practice: Mint Physical Therapy

Mint Physical Therapy stands for "manual integrative" physical therapy. Manual integrative techniques are hands-on techniques not often found in traditional physical therapy clinics and include Visceral Manipulation, Neural Manipulation, Visceral Lymphatic Balancing, Craniosacral Therapy, Craniosacral Fascial Therapy, and Healing Touch.

Symptoms Treated

• Abdominal and/or pelvic pain of any known or unknown cause
• Urinary symptoms
• Bowel symptoms
• Digestive issues
• Sexual dysfunction

• Postpartum recovery
• Diastasis recti (DRA)
• Pelvic organ prolapse (POP)
• Surgical preparation or recovery such as c-section, prostatectomy, and gender-affirming surgery
• Any other condition that has not improved with traditional physical therapy or allopathic medicine

Patients Treated

• All genders are welcome at Mint Physical Therapy.
• All ages from birth to end of life are welcome. Renee has advanced training treating children ages birth to 7 years with Visceral Manipulation, Neural Manipulation, Craniosacral Therapy (Upledger), and Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (Gillespie Approach) for conditions such as torticollis, birth trauma, digestive issues, and constipation.

What to Expect

• Expect 1 treatment every 3 weeks for up to 6-12 treatments, depending on the complexity of the condition.
• Treatment is 60 minutes 1-on-1 hands-on physical therapy treatment in a private treatment room.

Manual integrative physical therapy works best when combined with other practices to improve and maintain health such as allopathic medicine and traditional physical therapy as well as integrative practices such as chiropractic care, functional medicine, naturopathic medicine, Chinese medicine, acupuncture, massage therapy, nutrition, and exercise.

About Renee (Miller) Bergum, DPT

I completed my Doctorate of Physical Therapy in beautiful Duluth, Minnesota in 2014. I moved to the Chicago area in 2016 to be mentored by Brandi Kirk, PT, PRPC, CVTP in pelvic floor physical therapy and Visceral Manipulation techniques.

After over 5 years of expert-level training, valuable work experience, and extensive continuing education, I started Mint Physical Therapy in 2023 and am currently seeing patients in my own private practice treatment spaces located within Sleigh Family Chiropractic in Arlington Heights and a recently added space in the Gladstone Park neighborhood of NW Chicago.
