About

I have practiced physical therapy for nearly 30 years in a variety of settings with varied patient populations. My background is eclectic and holistic. I integrate my experience of clinical physical therapy with my experience in  Feldenkrais, The Alexander Technnique and other mind-body disciplines. My first major in college a long long time ago combined dance and psychology. Early on I understood the power of the connection between our bodies, our minds, our emotions and our psyche. The gentle hands on techniques of Craniosacral Therapy,  SomatoEmotional Release and NueroMeningeal Therapies enhance my practice in assisting clients find true comfort and ease in their bodies.

My Skills

Traditional physical therapy background including working in inpatient rehabilitation settings, back pain clinics, outpatient orthopedic clinics and now, for the past year, my very own private practice in a beautiful, quiet setting.

Skill set includes:

*** use of my experience with The Alexander Technique, Neurodevelopmental Technique, work with stroke and other neurological and orthopedic diagnoses, as well as intensive study and practice of myofascial release and Craniosacral Therapy.  I value truly listening to a client/patient's story....trying to discover underlying root causes of a problem.  My forte is in seeing alignment patterns right away that may not be useful and part of pain problems.. helping people to recognize these patterns, 'undo' them and learn new, effective ones.

****I have recently been introduced to the field of Myofunctional Therapy and Airway PT.  I am a provider who supports clients who are seeing an MFT, ENT or Dentist for issues concerning tongue tie, TMD or TMJ.   I have had good success working with people suffering from  headaches, migraines, and jaw pain.

*** lymphedema certified. I can work with people who have primary lymphedema as well as secondary lymphedema due to a surgery or treatment of a disease.

**** I have 17 years of experience helping people at all stages of treatment or recovery from cancer to improve their range of motion, physical fitness, pain or edema.
