I’m Vidhi Shastri, a physical therapist devoted to helping individuals restore balance, ease, and trust in their bodies through holistic, integrative care.
I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy in India in 2009, developing a strong grounding in anatomy, biomechanics, and rehabilitation. After gaining clinical experience, I felt called to expand my understanding further and moved to the United States, where I earned my Master’s degree in Exercise Science and Kinesiology from California Baptist University in Riverside, California, graduating in 2012.
Over the years, I’ve worked in diverse outpatient practices across the Upper East Side and Midtown Manhattan, treating a wide range of orthopedic and complex conditions. Through this work, I discovered Functional Manual Therapy (FMT)—a comprehensive, hands-on approach that integrates joints, soft tissues, and the body’s neurovascular systems. This approach resonated deeply with both my clinical training and my early exposure to holistic healing, and in August 2018, I became a Certified Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT) through the Institute of Physical Art.
My passion for understanding deeper layers of healing led me to study Visceral Manipulation and Neural Manipulation through the Barral Institute, as well as Craniosacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute. These modalities allow me to work with the subtle relationships between structure, nervous system regulation, and internal organ function.
In 2021, I deepened my personal and professional relationship with meditation by learning Vedic Meditation (commonly known as Transcendental Meditation) in the United States under a spiritual teacher trained in the lineage of mentors who studied directly under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the founder of this meditation tradition. This practice profoundly shaped how I understand stress, nervous system resilience, and the body’s innate capacity for self-regulation.
Following this, I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yogi Hari Ashram in Florida in 2021, grounding my meditative and philosophical studies into embodied practice. This training further refined my ability to integrate breath, movement, and stillness in ways that support both physical rehabilitation and nervous system balance.
More recently, I became a Certified Craniosacral Therapist–Technique (CST-T) practitioner, deepening my skills and clinical precision within this modality. As part of my continued commitment to the field, I am moving toward hosting study groups for students wishing to continue on the path of Craniosacral Therapy, supporting both skill development and embodied understanding. I am currently working toward becoming a CST-D (Diplomate), with the intention of completing this advanced certification by 2027.
I am also a Teaching assistant for CS1, CS2, SER1 and VM1 curriculum.
