Inspired Body Therapy

About Me

I have over 40 years of experience in physical rehabilitation.

I graduated from University of Kansas in 1984 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy.  I have worked in Acute Hospital Settings, Outpatient, Sports Medicine, Industrial Medicine, Home Health and Skilled Nursing Facilities and with Traumatic Brain Injured.  Throughout those years I continued to learn and apply a wide variety of therapeutic techniques to help people with acute and chronic injuries.

In 2005 I began learning the John F. Barnes’, Myofascial Release techniques.  Once I started using these techniques on my patients it became apparent that this form of therapy was getting to the root of their pain and restrictions. Treatment became considerably more effective.   I have made Myofascial Release and working with the fascial system the foundation of my treatments.  That began a journey of expanding my knowledge in other manual therapies such as: visceral mobilization, neural mobilization, cranio-sacral therapy, lymphatic drainage, and other holistic techniques.

Listening to the body’s messages and support the body’s inherent healing process is key.  I am able to use my considerable knowledge base, skill and experience with a wide range of tools and techniques to address each person’s unique needs.

I integrate the gentle, yet potent, manual therapy techniques of with the extensive medical knowledge of physical therapy.

My model of physical therapy is a holistic model that addresses the whole body, the mind and spirit.  It should help you look at and understand the impact of many things on your physical body and its ability to help you work, play and care for your family and friends.   That is how I practice the art of physical therapy.

Our bodies are amazing creations and have inherent healing abilities.  We are energetic beings functioning in a physical world

Whether I’m doing cranio-sacral therapy, specific neural mobilization techniques, lymphatic techniques, visceral mobilization or myofascial release; all of these systems operate in the fascial realm and follow its principles.   Relieving restrictions in these systems allows your body to function better.  Knowing and understanding the ways to read and interact with each system is key  to how I operate at Inspired Body Therapy
