About

I discovered myofascial release when I was in school getting trained as a physical therapist assistant.

I had chronic neck and back pain for a number of years, seeing chiropractors and physical therapists without significant relief.

My neck pain increased during my two years of driving from Hampton to Virginia Beach to attend school, all while single parenting my two daughters. My stress was high and my pain worsened.

My instructor who was also a John Barnes trained myofascial release therapist treated me several times, relieving my symptoms and helping me maintain my rigorous schedule.

Myofascial release was such a different experience than anything I'd tried before. It calmed my nervous system. I didn't feel pain as a by product of what was being done to me either. I knew then that I would pursue training so I could practice myofascial release when I treated patients in physical therapy.

I went on to work in physical therapy for nearly
20 years specializing in the care of chronic pain patients, the last six working with pelvic floor patients (pregnant, postpartum, men and women) all the while using myofascial release. It helped my patients feel better which I loved. It was common to have my patients say "why doesn't everyone practice this way."

After years of feeling like I needed something different and wanting to do more to help my patients, I left physical therapy (in 2021) to pursue massage school and opened my practice specializing in myofascial release in 2022. I also started pursuing training in visceral manipulation in 2025 to help enhance the work I was already doing.

I wish I hadn't waited so long because it has been really amazing helping people like you find a new way to live, with more physical and emotional freedom.

In my spare time I love to weightlift, hike, walk, do yoga, read, cook and bike in Richmond or wherever I travel. I also receive regular MFR to keep me doing the things I love.
