PJ McCracken

DPT, CFMT

About a year after earning my Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2010, I was certain I had chosen the wrong profession.  My gifts did not lie in what a traditional physical therapy clinic had to offer.  Protocol and symptoms-based treatments strongly rooted in basic exercises was not my jam.

This led me to the Institute of Physical Art, where I learned the art of treating the human body - not as separate body parts, but as an integrated system that must function together to work efficiently. As a Certified Functional Manual Therapist, I am always looking, watching and feeling how an individual moves to create a unique treatment approach for everyone who walks into my clinic.

My curiosity for treating the human body has, in large part, stemmed from my own health journey.  Low back pain, chronic gut issues, and headaches fueled my love for Functional Manual Therapy® and learning to listen to the body through cranial sacral, visceral, and neural mobilization classes with the Barral Institute.

My fertility, pregnancy, and post-partum journey spurred my interest in helping women through their own pregnancy journey, whether they are struggling to get pregnant, want to optimize their ability to have a natural birth, or maximize their ability to recover post-partum.

What I love most about my work is connecting to each individual that walks into my clinic. I love to hear their stories of who they were, who they are now, and who they want to be. Their stories tell a unique history that is reflected in their body. It’s through the sharing of these stories that we are able to begin to rewrite that story in their body, transitioning from who they are to who they want to be.
