Root, Regulate, & Restore

About Me

Most people I know who do any sort of bodywork have a powerful origin story almost like a superhero. However, I want to begin with my philosophy before getting into that. Just know that receiving this work has created the space I needed to begin my own healing journey.

A quote from Pema Chödrön, "You are the sky. Everything else it’s just the weather.” I like to think of all the pain and struggle as weather – remembering that you are whole, you are a blue sky.

This is my favorite analogy for a regulated nervous system. My experience in this culture we live in is one that creates dysregulation through cognitive dissonance. You were told you need to succeed financially, but also have time to be a good parent, be present with your romantic partner, have time to meditate, time to work out, time to cook healthy, homemade meals, and on and on.

All of this, not to mention relational and generational survival mechanisms that lead to dysregulation. Physical injuries and trauma that are stored in the body even after physical recovery.

The gentle hands-on work of CranioSacral Therapy has been a keystone for my nervous system. Regularly settling into my body with gentle, caring hands has allowed me to keep moving forward into myself.

Riding my bike home on the first day of high school, I was hit by a truck. I had a skull fracture, bleeding brain. I was life-flighted to a hospital in another town. When I left the ICU a week later, I didn't have a short-term memory, couldn't see patterns, and lost my sense of smell.

After the bleeding had healed, I was taken to a CranioSacral Therapy Practitioner several times a week for a few months and regularly for the rest of that year. I know time helps heal, but without CranioSacral Therapy, I don't believe I would have had a full recovery.

As I grew up, life hit me hard a few more times and my nervous system needed help.  In conjunction with counseling, CranioSacral Therapy has brought me to a place where I feel I have access to myself, my creativity, and a strong foundation of Self.

I graduated from the Atlanta School of Massage in 2012, and took my first CranioSacral Therapy class in January 2013 — fulfilling a dream I had carried since my own healing began. In the years since, I have deepened my training through the Upledger Institute in CranioSacral Therapy, SomatoEmotional Release, cranial nerve work, and visceral manipulation, alongside continuing education in deep tissue massage and oncology massage. I have also completed a Diploma in Ontological Coaching from Newfield Network — a body of study that has profoundly shaped how I listen and how I hold space. My practice, Root Regulate & Restore, is based in Bozeman, MT.

As I share my work, this is what I hope for each of my clients – that you will release restriction in the body and begin to feel more access to your foundation of Self. Whether you are recovering from trauma and want CranioSacral Therapy to be partnered with other healthcare professionals, or you are coming for the work on your own, I welcome you.

CranioSacral Therapy isn't a fix, or a pill to take, it is part of the healing process. It takes time for the body to learn that quiet space, time to get there.

I would be honored to be a part of your healing journey when you are ready.
