About
I attended Russell Sage College from 1995-2000 and graduated with my Master's degree in Physical Therapy. I started out working in the hospital setting for 7 years working primarily in the acute rehabilitation setting with a focus on treating the neurologically impaired such as; MS, Parkinson's and stroke. In 2007, I began working in a private outpatient setting specializing in manual therapy. In 2011 I began specializing in pelvic health and rehabilitation. I am proud to announce that I am opening my own practice as of May 1st, 2018 continuing to specialize in manual therapy and pelvic health. I look forward to seeing my patients in a quiet and intimate setting so I can focus on patient care.My Skills
While working in the hospital setting, I attended continuing education courses to train in neurodevelopmental treatment techniques (NDT). While working in my current outpatient position, I have attended training for craniosacral therapy (CST), myofascial release (MFR), visceral manipulation (VM), muscle energy techniques (MET), and pelvic rehabilitation through the APTA. I obtained my CAPP certification for pelvic rehabilitation through the APTA, but have also taken a pediatric pelvic health course and male pelvic health course through Herman and Wallace. In September of 2016 I presented on physical therapy treatments for pelvic floor muscle dysfunction at the 2016 Urogynecology Conference held at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. Pelvic rehabilitation can address a variety of diagnoses such as; stress/urge or mixed urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, constipation, pelvic pain, dyspareunia, erectile dysfunction, prostate issues, coccydynia and restrictions related to scar tissue from surgery. Manual therapy can help complement my treatments for both my pelvic and non-pelvic patients. These techniques may include; myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, visceral mobilization, strain counter strain and muscle energy techniques. I also treat a variety of other diagnoses which may include; stroke, Parkinson's, MS, orthopedic conditions (knee, low back pain etc.), chronic pain from fibromyalgia, lyme disease and much more!Professional Associations / Memberships
I currently belong to the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the Private Practice Section of the APTA (PPS), the Section of Urologic Nursing Association (SUNA) and the Section on Women's Health (SOWH).Therapeutic Evolution PT
