Kelly Yoakam, MA, ADS, CST-D

Kelly began studying complimentary medicine in the 1980’s for her own health challenges. Though she studied many different modalities, it is CranioSacral therapy where she finds “home,” into which she weaves together various modalities and even incorporates the use of sound therapeutically.

For nearly 30 years, Kelly had been a professional harpist—teaching and performing in mid-Michigan.

She has a masters degree in Musicology from Michigan State University, researching two areas: first, how music, coupled with symbolism and poetry, create and establish identity; and secondly, her passion for the practical application of sacred, healing, sound instruments from various cultures.

For 15 years, Kelly taught Tai Chi at Lansing Community College and 8 years at Mindful Movement and Physical Therapy.

Though Kelly practiced part-time as a Personal Health Facilitator, it was after a serious automobile accident, from which she acquired a TBI, or Traumatic Brain Injury, that her life’s direction took a change and planted both feet into practicing CranioSacral Therapy.

Because she appreciated the powerful benefits of this gentle therapy, Kelly called her CranioSacral therapist immediately after the accident! In addition, her P.T. at Origami Brain Rehab also practiced CranioSacral Therapy, so she received treatments 2-4 times a month for over a year with incredible results!
