About Me

I grew up in Cloquet, Minnesota. I started in Occupational Therapy as a certified occupational therapy assistant graduating from Lake Superior College in 1998. My professional path led me back to higher education to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Science and Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, graduating from St. Catherine University in 2013. I advanced my practice to include certification in hand therapy from the Hand Therapy Certification Commission in 2018. I have practiced in the field of occupational therapy for 24 years.  

 

I am a registered and Licensed Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist at Community Memorial Hospital. My specialty areas include hand therapy/upper extremity rehabilitation, manual therapy techniques, ergonomics, and industrial rehabilitation. I am certified in functional capacity evaluations and ergonomic assessments. I love to learn and continually nurture and grow my treatment techniques and skills to best serve the people I am entrusted to care for.

 

I enjoy working with the structure and function of the body helping to manage the effects of injury or illness. I feel honored to support people on their healing journey. Through advanced coursework and treatment techniques, my clients have seen a drastic improvement in returning to their occupational roles and desired function. I enjoy working with people of all ages, helping them to achieve their goals and reach their fullest potential!

My Skills

I hold an advanced certification in hand therapy and upper extremity rehabilitation. I am skilled in custom upper extremity orthotic fabrication. I use holistic approach to patient care, utilizing manual therapy techniques, myofascial release, neural manipulation, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, trigger point release, craniosacral therapy techniques, stretching, and active strengthening. 

I am certified in the administration of functional capacity evaluations and have advanced education in ergonomics. I am certified in LSVT Parkinson's treatment.
