About Me
MANUAL THERAPIST
With
35 years of expertise in rehabilitative manual therapy, Gigi has
successfully addressed various types of pain and dysfunction. Combining
compassion with a dedication to lifelong learning, she skillfully
identifies the intricate relationships between the brain, nerves,
fascial systems, organs, ligaments, and joints. Using precise,
light-touch techniques, Gigi releases tissue tensions, restoring balance
across all systems and facilitating recovery.
In 1990, Gigi shifted her career focus from software engineering to Manual Therapy and "human engineering". Blending analytical proficiency with intuitive reasoning, she has formed her approach to whole-body treatment. Gigi is committed to personalized care in a supportive setting for individuals, of all ages, and abilities. She enjoys collaborating with clients and healthcare providers alike to deliver optimal outcomes.
EDUCATOR
In the classroom, she enjoyed sharing her enthusiasm with students as they learned and explored the amazing human body. She has instructed one-year curriculum of Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology. As a Certified Practitioner and Instructor of Lowen Systems DMI, she has taught and assisted in Lowen Systems continuing education seminars.
BRAIN-ANS-PAIN CONNECTION
Gigi
expanded her expertise in injury and pain treatment in 2011 by
exploring the nuanced interactions between the brain, autonomic nervous
system (ANS), and pain. Through her studies of Polyvagal Theory, Vagus
Nerve, trauma-informed manual therapies, neurobiology, and neuroscience,
she gained a deeper understanding of the ANS's impact on overall
health. By recognizing the ANS's role in sending safety signals and
facilitating resilient interactions internally and externally, Gigi
effectively addresses key components to underlying causes of chronic
pain.
