About Me
MANUAL THERAPIST
With 35 years of experience in rehabilitative and integrative manual therapies, Gigi has successfully addressed various types of pain and dysfunction. Drawn to anatomy and physiology, and meaningful human connection, Gigi shifted her career focus in 1990 from software engineering to Manual Therapy and "human engineering".
Her whole-body approach combines compassion with a dedication to life-long learning. In her office, each person, infants to elderly, will receive their own specialized care and individual treatment. She is a client teammate and learns from her clients every day.
Gigi utilizes her extensive multi-systems training to guide her in identifying and releasing tensions in the support tissues of your body. She assess neural and visceral inputs gaining as much information as she can to facilitate treatment. She believes in collaborative care with clients and multi-disciplinary healthcare providers alike to deliver optimal outcomes.
MODALITIES: Manual Visceral and Neural Therapy, DMI Fascial Fluid Dynamics, Neurofascial, Myofascial, Cranial, Lymphatic, Acupressure and Oriental Therapies, Trauma-Informed Manual Therapies and Autonomic Nervous System Regulation.
EDUCATOR
In the classroom, she has instructed one-year curriculum of Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology. She enjoyed sharing her enthusiasm in occupational school settings with students as they learned and explore the amazing human body.
As a Certified Practitioner and Instructor of Lowen Systems DMI Fascial Fluid Dynamics, she has taught and assisted in Lowen Systems continuing education seminars.
ANS-PAIN-BRAIN CONNECTION
Gigi is passionate about the combined roles of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) and the brain related to chronic pain and health. In 2011, her curiosity and desire to further help her clients led her to study the Polyvagal Theory, the Vagus Nerve, trauma-informed manual therapies, and the associated neurobiology and neuroscience of the ANS, expanding her awareness of injury and pain management.
By recognizing the ANS's role in sending safety signals and facilitating interactions both internally and externally, Gigi effectively addresses the key components to underlying causes of chronic pain and offers her clients insights on how to achieve this for themselves.
