Gavin Garcia

About

     Gavin Garcia was born in San Diego CA, and has had a lifetime of involvement with physical activities and health studies.  With his father’s career in Sports Medicine and coaching, and his mother’s in Behavioral Science, interest in the common ground shared between the mind and body peaked for him at an early age.  This sparked his desire to learn and study medicine in a way that considers all aspects of an individual person when seeking to improve one’s health or to heal injures.  

Gavin Garcia is a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) and California board certified herbalist with a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM).  He is also currently enrolled in the Naturopathic Doctor (ND) program at Bastyr University in San Diego.  His clinical practice is located in Solana Beach, CA.  

Gavin creates personalized treatments for his patients using specific anatomical tissue diagnostics to address structural and physiological imbalances that are the root causes of many physical, mental and emotional health concerns.  Primary modalities used for therapy are: acupuncture & moxibustion, craniosacral therapy (CST), neural manipulation (NM), visceral manipulation (VM), myofascial release (MFR), gua sha and cupping therapy.  Herbal medicine, nutritional counseling and movement therapy are also utilized to enable his patients to optimize their own health themselves.  

Gavin’s personal interests include surfing, music and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  His own experiences with injuries and ailments have fueled an adept understanding of the healing process - from day one of an injury, to the maintenance and care for lasting ones.
