My skills
My approach to bodywork draws from more than two decades of clinical practice and continued study in manual therapy, movement, and integrative care.
My skill set includes Structural Integration in the lineage of William “Dub†Leigh’s ZenBodytherapy®, with training under Audry Nakamura and Bill Thompson. I am also certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (C-MLD) and frequently integrate lymphatic techniques with CranioSacral Therapy (CST). In my clinical experience, this combination can be especially supportive for clients experiencing migraines, persistent head and neck tension, and those recovering from traumatic brain injuries (TBIs).
My work also incorporates neuromuscular approaches, including Strain Counterstrain, positional release therapy, myofascial techniques, and other gentle methods selected according to the individual needs of each client.
I have extensive experience working with a wide range of populations, including pediatric clients, pregnancy and postpartum clients, individuals experiencing significant stress and emotional strain, and people recovering from complex spinal, neck, and musculoskeletal injuries.
I am currently an M.S. in Exercise Science candidate at Bastyr University, where I continue to expand my understanding of human movement, rehabilitation, and exercise science.
In addition to clinical practice, I am a continuing education instructor and have been teaching massage therapists since 2000. I especially enjoy introducing practitioners to the foundational skills, history, and different schools of CranioSacral Therapy and helping them develop confident, thoughtful palpation and clinical reasoning skills.
