About
Hello All!
My name is Emily Munday and I have been a massage therapist since 2009. I began working out of a physical therapy office providing massage therapy services while going to school to become a Physical therapist Assistant. After graduating I began working at that same PT office where I met my husband who is also a PT. We have since branched out to begin our own practices and projects. He has taught me how to sail, surf, and we have also taken up stand up paddle boarding. I love practicing yoga and pilates as well as swimming. Outside of all those activities my husband and I spend most of our days traveling around taking continuing education courses together and learning as much as we can about the body and all of the things it can teach us.
My Skills
I have been focusing on advancing and progressing my skills to listen to the body both generally, at the top of the head, and locally at a certain area of the body. Based on that feedback I provide specific techniques to the local areas to encourage the body to self heal. With the manual therapy and soft tissue mobilization techniques, I invite a conversation with the brain and body to begin, while sending cues to the nervous system to encourage relaxation and optimal wellness to heal itself. With my massage therapy background I also understand the importance of providing a healing touch to the muscular system integrating these new techniques to the organs through visceral manipulation including the brain, the nerves through neural meningeal techniques, and the craniosacral system feeling different subtle rhythms throughout the body into a massage. I believe the body will show me what I am ready to treat at my level, and what it is ready to heal, and together we will peel back the layers to achieve the deepest healing possible.
