About
Hi, I'm Dr. Emily Caldwell (she/her), a Doctor of Physical Therapy and the founder of Evergreen Pelvic Health & Wellness.
I believe everyone deserves to feel confident and comfortable in their body. Whether you're dealing with bladder leaks, pelvic pain, prolapse, preparing for birth, recovering postpartum, navigating menopause, or healing after pelvic surgery, my goal is to help you understand what's happening and create a plan that fits your life.
Pelvic health is personal, and I know it can feel overwhelming or even embarrassing to talk about. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and rooted in the latest evidence. I take the time to listen to your story, answer your questions, and treat the whole person—not just your symptoms.
Originally from Colorado, I completed my undergraduate studies at Loyola University Chicago before earning my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northwestern University in 2010. After spending several years in Chicago, I moved to Portland, where I completed an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency and have continued to build advanced expertise in both orthopedic and pelvic health rehabilitation.
Outside the clinic, you'll usually find me exploring the Pacific Northwest with my family, hiking, baking, reading, or cheering on my daughters at their activities. I also have a lifelong love of movement—from growing up figure skating and snowboarding to now enjoying short track speed skating—which continues to shape my appreciation for helping people return to the activities they love.
My Skills
My Approach
Pelvic health rarely exists in isolation. The organs, muscles, joints, breathing, nervous system, and lifestyle all influence how you feel and function.
Rather than chasing symptoms or offering quick fixes, I work to understand the "why" behind your concerns. Together, we'll identify the factors contributing to your symptoms and build a treatment plan that supports lasting improvement.
Treatment may include:
- Hands-on manual therapy- visceral mobilization, joint mobilization and manipulation, and myofascial decompression
- Pelvic floor assessment and rehabilitation when indicated and consented to- internal and external, vaginal and/or rectal
- Strength and conditioning
- Breathing and pressure management strategies
- Exercise and movement training
- Education to help you confidently return to the activities you enjoy
My goal is to help you leave each visit feeling more informed, more capable, and more confident in your body.
