About

My journey in the world of bodywork started when I was a teen. My mum was studying for her Diploma of Remedial Massage at Nature Care College in Sydney, Australia (my hometown). I was her test rabbit! It wasn't all smooth sailing for mum, as I really resisted the whole thing, from having to be mostly undressed, to being poked and prodded, at a time in my life I wasn't appreciative of it at all!

Fast forward to graduating high school, and the Economics degree that I had been accepted into, just wasn't calling me. So I dropped it all and decided to study Naturopathy. In Australia, the first year of a 4 year Naturopathic degree included getting your massage qualification. Pretty neat.

While completing my Naturopathy qualifications, I set up my first massage clinic in a medical center. Working out of a medical clinic, with referrals from several of the doctors, gave me an invaluable start in my massage/ bodywork career. Patients came to me with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Tourett's Syndrome, Rheumatoid Arthritis,  medically diagnosed stress, and many more complex health presentations. Some patients actually experienced so much relief that they were able to reduce their dosages of medications. I was encouraged!

I lived and worked in London as a Naturopath for a stint, as well as Sydney however, life in a city was never for me and I left home on a round-the-world ticket and never got further than Costa Rica- home now, since 2003.

Over the years, I have grown more and more grateful for the chance to work with people on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual plane. It didn't all happen at once, but as the years pass by, the more I learn, and the more I realize I do not know!! Still, my hunger, curiosity, and desire to help heal people has never diminished and I continue to give my very best to each and every client.

If you like a deeply nurturing, firm/ deep massage, with a mix of myofacial release, active release, trigger point work, and don't mind participating a little- then I might be the right massage therapist for you! Over recent years, I have studied Visceral Manipulation, and craniosacral therapy, so am beginning to incorporate this work into my sessions.
I surf, work out, swim, play tennis, grew up horseback riding/ competing, have played water polo, practiced a little yoga, hiked, paddleboarded and more- so know what feels good to muscles that work hard... and have a good grasp of what movements/ activities cause issues and where.
