Structural Integration

This is stage two of my professional life. I was married and in business with my husband for 27 years and raised two daughters before I left all that and began teaching yoga in 1997. At age 50 I received my first massage, and I loved the results so much that was what I wanted to offer this to others. I have been practicing Structural Integration since 2008, having graduated from Tom Myer's KMI training. He was a student of Ida Rolf and passed on the knowledge and sensitivity necessary to do this work. I have completed the 12 session series on hundreds of clients with good to great results: the series can be life changing. I had previously studied Dr Randolf Stone's Polarity Therapy during the 4 years I lived in New York. He used the interaction of electromagnetic fields of the client and practitioner in unique ways to affect changes in the flow of energy to help the body to heal itself. I had been most interested in the structural studies, so decided to pursue that further. In more recent years I have been studying with the Barral Institute. Jean Pierre Barral is a French osteopath. I began with Visceral Manipulation, then Neural Manipulation, and Listening Techniques, and more advanced work for arteries and joints and the brain. These very precise techniques have been incorporated into my Structural Integration series work, improving the results. I have also studied craniosacral therapy. I love the work. It is a challenge to enter and meld with the reality of another to such an extent that a healing environment can be created. Cultivating neutrality, listening artfully, following movement becomes a way to help people and exert a positive influence on the world.
