About Me
Athena Swinford is a Licensed Massage therapist, Advanced Cranial Sacral & Visceral / Neural Manipulation practitioner and owner of Ahana Integrative Therapies located in Anchorage, Alaska. Athena offers a unique "outside of the box" perspective when working with clients. With 15 years of experience in many environments that include world class spas, medical massage clinics and private practice.
Athena values cooperative co-care plans and will support you in working with multiple Allied Health providers and your primary care physician.
She practices with a genuine responsibility to each patient, and takes the time to intently listen and understand your needs.
After Athena received her Massage License graduating from the Alaska Learning Institute in 2007 she quickly realized that she was more interested in problem solving the root source a patients discomfort than treating the symptoms. Over the past 15 years Athena has traveled for continuing education courses, volunteered her time to participate as a support therapist in clinical therapy programs in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico and studied with some of the best manual therapy instructors and practitioners directly trained by Dr. John Upledger and Jean Pierre Barral.

Some Insurances accepted. When calling to schedule an appointment please have on hand your insurance card and Id and Date of Birth to verify benefits or use our Insurance Verification Worksheet to call your insurance carrier to confirm your year- to date- benefits and eligibility for manual therapy and massage from a licensed massage therapist.
*Super bills can be provided for you to submit to your Insurance carrier for re-reimbursement.*

OFFICE IS NEAR LAKE OTIS & TUDOR INTERSECTION
From Downtown Head East toward the mountains on Benson or 36th Avenue. At Lake Otis BLVD. turn Right. Near Lake Otis Pharmacy get into left turn lane onto 42nd Ave. Take left turn. Then at stop sign take right onto Laurel
St. The Tudor Professional Bldg. 4325 Laurel St is on the left hand
side of the Rd.
From Tudor Heading North on Tudor get into middle turn Lane at stop light with Lake Otis BLVD. Turn Left and make sure you are in the far right lane. Turn Right at 42nd St. Then at stop sign take right onto Laurel St. The Tudor Professional Bldg. 4325 Laurel St is on the left hand side of the Rd.
Unfortunately this location is not handicap accessible. It is a two story building with the parking and entrance on the North side of the building. Please take care when parking, as at times the parking lot can be very full.
If you have difficulty using stairs please notify us when scheduling your appointment.
COVID POLICY; 3 layered fabric masks are required before entering the building. During the appointment you will be asked to keep your mask on at all times. When you arrive for your appointment please stay in you vehicle and call at your appointment time to let us know you have arrived. You will then be asked to come into the building and wash your hands. To get to the bathroom walk straight past the front desk and take a left. The bathrooms are located near the end of the hallway on the left. Please wash hands thoroughly up to your elbows. I will meet you in the lobby for your appointment
