About Me
I was born and raised in Missoula, Montana. I grew up an active outdoor kid and continue to love being outside exploring our beautiful state. I have always been interested in the sciences and especially how the body worked. I wanted to help people through natural means and physical therapy seemed like the right canvas. I took an unusual path to PT school, but honed my skills using the scientific process while earning a BS in Chemistry from the University of Montana in 2002. I went on to achieve my Doctorate in Physical therapy with distinction from Pacific University in 2005.
I have worked in outpatient orthopedics for the duration of my career. I have taken advanced training in manual therapy, Pilates for Rehabilitation, Functional Dry Needling and specialty training to sharpen my ability to diagnosis and treat impairments at the source. I am the only PT in Montana who has completed the Integrated Systems Model (ISM) Series taught by world renowned Physiotherapist Diane Lee.
It was through my experience training in ISM that I was introduced to the work of Jean-Pierre Barral. During my course, I was introduced the the concept of visceral restrictions but it wasn't until I felt the work in my own body that I was a true believer. I felt changes in my body that I didn't believe were possible before. I found movement in areas of restriction that had not responded to any other therapies I had tried. The more I learned, the more I realized that my new path was to learn this body of work and bring it to my clients to help them live their best life.
I believe in the body's innate ability to heal, but that sometimes it needs a little help finding the way.
