My first experience with any kind of Cranial work was from a Native American elder who worked on me for the better part of a day, opening up my cranial sutures. He showed me where the cranial sutures are and told me that it was very important for them to move freely. He said that most peoples didn't and that it makes people not think right or work right. He told me that I should go out into the world and free up as many peoples heads as I could. That experience drifted into past and the following year I enrolled in massage school where I encountered my second exposure to CST when a visiting therapist introduced our class to the modality. He proceeded to take away a fellow students migraine headache in three minutes! and also drastically changed her blood pressure and heart rate! I had to learn how to do this! Amazingly, that experience too, as well as the name of the modality, drifted into the past, until the fall of 2005, when going through old school papers, I found a single sheet of paper from that visiting CranioSacral Therapist. I enrolled in the next class and in January 2006 Tim Hutton's class changed my career and rocked my world, literally, as I had to sit down due to the shifting going on in the patients body that seemed to also shift the ground underneath my feet. I sat in amazement watching heat rise out of peoples bodies like extreme heat rolling off the pavement on a hot summers day. Today, CranioSacral Therapy continues to amaze me, now on a daily basis. It is my favorite and most effective form that I practice and is happily growing in popularity amongst my clients.
