Lisa has been a licensed Occupational Therapist since 1982 and a Certified Hand Therapist since 1991. While on staff at a Rehabilitation Center in Chicago, she injured her back, and was then a patient for 9 months. Her first 6 months of traditional therapy left her with constant back spasms and sciatica. It was in her quest while searching for the most effective therapy for herself that she became familiar with John Barnes Myofacial Release. This treatment was so effective that she vowed to learn the techniques to help others in pain. Since then, Lisa has taken all of John Barnes Myofascial Release classes, and is now a senior instructor for the Myofascial Release Treatment Centers and Seminars. She has taken and incorporates John Upledger’s Cranial Sacral therapy, levels 1 and 2, appropriate for cranial tensions, headaches, and TMJ pain. In November, 2006, Lisa completed The Upledger "Visceral Manipulation" courses 1-3. This hands-on form of releasing internal organ restrictions will be of great benefit to patients and a welcome addition to the roster of therapies offered here. Lisa also uses Advanced Dialoging skills through the Barnes courses and from Upledgers Advanced Dialoging HCT 1, and HCT 2 classes. As of June 1, 2006, Lisa is now a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner. This can be a very effective complement to the MFR treatments, as this taping can continue an elongated stretch for several days post treatment. Most all of Ganfield Therapeutics staff are highly trained in the MFR techniques. In conjunction with traditional therapy, Lisa and her staff find that MFR is the "missing link to successful outcomes". Lisa treats clients 3 days a week.
