I am based in Vancouver, BC. In my sessions I blend Visceral Manipulation, Craniosacral Therapy and Bowen Technique. I'll briefly describe each of these below. Bowen Technique is a dynamic system of muscle and connective tissue therapy that address the entire body and encourages the release of patterns of held tension. I apply small but measured inputs to key points in specific locations (which include muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves), stimulating the client's body's ability to heal itself, often profoundly. Bowen Technique seems to catalyze a shift from ANS over-stimulation ('fight, flight or freeze' mode) to 'rest relax and repair mode' which is the state in which healing can occur. Craniosacral Therapy is concerned with balancing the activity of the Central Nervous System (CNS), working to free the brain, spinal cord and their surrounding membranes and bones of restrictions that can be at the core of perpetuating pain and misalignment. Visceral Manipulation focuses on balancing and maintaining the interconnected synchronicity between the motions of all the organs and structures of the body. An organ with abnormal tone, adhesions or displacement works against other organs and tissues, creating fixed, abnormal points of mechanical tension that the body is forced to move around. These tensions can cause postural changes and other sorts of dysfunction and pain. These therapies were powerful tools in my own healing and I continue to enhance and share my knowledge as a Teaching Assistant for Visceral Manipulation courses with the Barral Institute. I have studied the Sociology of the Body and Traditional Chinese Medicine, practiced yoga for two decades and am a certified yoga teacher. I incorporate these and other diverse influences in my approach to manual therapy. My skills Professional Associations / Memberships IAHE Affiliations
