As a Lactation Consultant helping moms and babies with breastfeeding problems, since 1993, I was searching for an answer. "If I could just eliminate the tension in the baby's body", I thought, "the natural instinct would take over". How could I remedy it? The answer — CranioSacral Therapy (CST).
I began taking Upledger Courses. I am now a Certified CranioSacral Therapist (CST), with courses through Advanced CranioSacral Therapy, and CranioSacral Therapy for Pediatrics. In my journey, I've also specialized in Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (LDT)(through level III), and Bruno Chikley MD's renown Brain Curriculum. I apply my CranioSacral Therapy and Lymphatic Drainage skills to all ages.
LDT BreastCare softens scars that can interfere with milk production and flow, and easily resolves engorgement, thrush and mastitis. CST during pregnancy prepares mom and baby/s bodies for an easier, quicker, more natural birth experience. Post-partum CST releases physical/emotional birth trauma i.e. depression, pelvic problems, colic/crying, misshapen head, torticolis, breastfeeding problems, etc. Misshapen heads over time can lead to more severe problems: headaches, scoliosis, visual disorders, TMJ problems, and sensorimotor- and sensory-processing dysfunction. The causes of misshapen heads may vary: babies consistently placed on backs to sleep, intervention in birth process in the form of optional C-sections, even epidural and Pitosin use. Breastfeeding problems are 90% of the time due to baby's ineffective suck. Birth trauma and/or medical intervention are often the root cause.
I consider my clientle the entire human family, from conception, through all the stages of life. I have a gentle, nurturing touch that nourishes the inner self in each of us.
By the way, I myself have experienced the amazing results from Craniosacral Therapy and Lymph Drainage. From a "hopeless case" to hopelessly in love with life! That's the real story.
