Dr. Kim Lawler-Coyle, PT, DPT, has been a licensed physical therapist since January 1982. She earned her B.S. in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University in 1981. Kim earned her Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy in 2013 while working a busy physical therapy clinic schedule. Since 1986, Kim studied directly under John Upledger and has served as a Teaching Assistant for numerous courses with the Upledger Institute. Beginning in the late 1980s, she also trained extensively with Jean Pierre Barral, D.O., P.T., the developer of Visceral Manipulation, along with Brain and Neural treatment techniques. In the 1980s, Kim studied with Dr. Janet Travell, one of the leading authorities on "Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction."

 

Kim has a vast knowledge of integrative physical therapy treatment, decades of treatment application hours, and endless experience with so many conditions, too many to list; you will be glad to have some new solutions and collaborative help.

 

Kim has served as an instructor and faculty member at the USC Dental School’s TMJ Department, under the direction of Dr. Terry Tanaka, and has taught Soft Tissue Techniques and TMJ courses at Loma Linda University's Master of Physical Therapy Program. She is committed to lifelong learning, having completed hundreds of postgraduate courses in physical therapy. Kim believes that ongoing clinical practice is essential for effectively applying knowledge to benefit patients.

 

With over 67,000 hours of clinical experience in advanced physical therapy techniques, Kim maintains a busy work schedule to ensure patients have timely access to her care. She is also a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner. In addition to her clinical work, Kim has developed eco-friendly products for the physical therapy industry and is soon to become a published author in 2026 upon the completion of her Book.
