Blue Moon Massage - Kathi Samenfeld Murphy

About Me

After twelve years in the field, I keep furthering my studies in order to introduce new ideas into my work and because I enjoy the learning process and what I do so very much.

Recently I took Contemporary Cupping Methods which has given a whole new dimension to my practice. Cupping has been in practice for over 5,000 years and can be done either stationary or with movements on the body. It enhances the lymph work and reaches new levels of muscle and toxin release that allows me to work more effectively and comfortably with my clients.

Some of the other classes I have taken are:
  • Releasing the Rotator Cuff
  • Effective Treatments for Sciatica
  • A Total Approach for Treating Neck and Scapular Disorders
  • Integrated Neuromuscular Re-Education
  • Myofascial Release (MFR)
  • Lymphatic Drainage I, II and III
  • Qigong in Costa Rica with a Grandmaster from Malaysia
  • Tuina at the Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing, China
  • Maya Abdominal Massage (MAM) workshop in Belize and the annual MAM convention in Mexico
  • CranioSacral 1 and 2, Somatic Emotional Release 1 and 2, Visceral Manipulation, and Pediatric CranioSacral
  • Workshops for the release of shoulders, hips, arms and neck
  • CranioSacral Therapy Around Death and Dying with Don Ash
  • Study of the frontal lobe

All of this has been incredibly powerful work. I love combining the different modalities to fit the needs of my clients. I continue to learn from my clients and colleagues about the marvels of the body's regenerative powers and how best to listen to the body.
