Massage at its best is a conversation that is ongoing and ever changing. I have been honored to have been in practice for 15 years.
Craniosacral is incorporated in most of my massages for balancing and releasing stresses. Tui Na and deep tissue may be helpful for the athlete or those with over strained muscles. Energy work might be best after traumatic events or serious illness.
I keep furthering my studies in order to introduce new ideas into my work and because I enjoy the learning process and what I do so very much.
Some of the classes I have taken are:
Neuroplasticity for Children
Contemporary Cupping Methods
Releasing the Rotator Cuff
Effective Treatments for Sciatica
Treating Neck and Scapular Disorders
Integrated Neuromuscular Re-Education
Myofascial Release (MFR)
Qigong and Aikido
Tuina at the Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing, China
Maya Abdominal Massage (MAM) workshop in Belize and Mexico
Somatic Emotional Release
Release of Shoulders, Hips, Arms and Neck
CranioSacral Therapy Around Death and Dying
All of this has been incredibly powerful work. I love combining the different modalities to fit the needs of my clients. I continue to learn from my clients and colleagues about the marvels of the body's regenerative powers and how best to listen to the body.
Each session is tailored to the individual, whether it is therapeutic work, a relaxing massage after a long day, deeper muscle work or energy work. Kriya is a flowing kind of massage that the other types of work build upon.
Some of the problems this work can help with are:
Chronic Neck and Back Pain
Orthopedic Problems, including Bunions
Stress and Tension-Related Problems
