Although I obtained a doctorate in Marine Biology in 1993, medicine has been my passion since I was a teenager. I met CranioSacral Therapy by chance, to improve my children and I health issues. Impressed by the results I decided to learn this amazing therapy. Not only did I heal my health issues but I had finally found what I was looking for: a therapy integrating body, mind, emotions and soul, to achieve a lasting, and better state of health.

What is CranioSacral Therapy?

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on, whole-body technique releasing restrictions in all the body tissues, correcting dysfunctions, and facilitating needed healing. The term CranioSacral Therapy comes from one of the main technique used: the evaluation of the motion of the skull cranial bones and of the dural tube inside the spine, from the head to the tail bone, in relation to the production and reabsorption of the cerebrospinal fluid. As a result, CST is especially recommended to release restrictions in the meninges, correct dysfunctions of the brain and spinal cord, and enhance central nervous system performance.

CST techniques also allow access to all the fascia layers of the body and can release tension patterns in all the body systems and their organs: respiratory, digestive, reproductive, musculoskeletal, and so on. These releases contribute to help and often resolve chronic pain or dysfunctions, heal past traumas, strengthen the body's natural healing processes, bolster resistance to disease, and improve overall health.

Who can benefit from CranioSacral Therapy and for what health conditions?

Almost anyone can benefit from a session because it is very effective as a preventive health measure. It has also proven effective on puzzling cases that have not responded well to other approaches.

All ages come to my office. I treat babies, including newborns, who have nursing issues, misshapen heads, Torticollis, and/or colic. Babies who had difficult times in utero or went through some level of traumatic birth, like having to be turned, or being stuck in the birth canal for whatever reason, or having the cord wrapped around the neck, can beneficiate tremendously from just a few CST sessions in their first three months.

CST can help children with neurological disorders or with spectrum disorders (from ADD to Autism), with Cerebral Palsy, scoliosis, depressed immune system, ear infections, headaches (including from wearing braces), cross-bites, dyslexia. It can also help children resolve sleep issues, anxiety or anger issues, often associated with tummy aches, or headaches.

Pregnant women are welcome. Meeting your needs and making you comfortable are my priority.

The elderly population can also benefit from CST, in helping the nervous system to stay in shape, in fighting the damages from Alzheimer, in improving sleep, memory, and promoting relaxation and well-being.

What are other common conditions treated with CranioSacral Therapy?

Headaches, migraines, concussions, traumatic brain injuries, neuralgia, chronic neck and back pain, sinus conditions, earaches, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, stress and tension related issues, immune system disorders, post traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, liver disorders, colitis, stiffness in joints, numbness, emotional difficulties, TMJ disorders, anxiety, insomnia, depression, PTSD,PMS, vertigo and dizziness, car sickness, fertility issues...

How many CranioSacral Therapy sessions will I need?

It depends of your response to CST. While one session may give you the relief that you seek, your particular condition may require more therapy for complete resolution. It is common for your improvement to continue between sessions or weeks after sessions.

Like many of my clients, you might find that CST increase your energy flow, improve and correct your chronic condition, help you get a better understanding of yourself, and help you become a healthier, better integrated and balanced being.

What my clients say about their treatments:

After a head trauma, due to a car accident, our 8 month old daughter Kate was suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Since seeing Isabelle for CranioSacral Therapy, Kate's has finally regained a normal head shape and her sleeplessness, restlessness, nervousness and irritability have disappeared. Thanks to Isabelle, we have our calm, happy little girl back. Chelsea and Spencer Barclay

I have been seeing Isabelle for about a year, and when I started I was a mess. I had lots of panic attacks, and I couldn’t control them even with medicine. Isabelle has helped me tremendously: I got rid of a lot of pain and suffering I have lived with through out my whole life. And I have no more panic attacks! I would recommend her to anyone, and I think that everybody should know about how CranioSacral Therapy can help. Vicki Butts

She is amazing! If I had it my way, I would check every box possible about her healing abilities. She is helping my mind, body, and spirit heal from PTSD. She has helped me overcome a lot of fear and deal with stress and stressful situations. I advise anybody who has gone through any type of trauma to see her!Thai Lowrence

I have had several sessions of CranioSacral Therapy (CST) with Isabelle, and I would recommend it to anyone. The sessions are relaxing, and the results are amazing. I was nervous, couldn't sleep, and I was suffering from my whole body aching. After just one session, I was sleeping so much that I couldn't believe it. After several sessions, I am more relaxed, still sleeping through the night, and my body aches and pains have diminished significantly. It seems as though my body is much more on track now and I am not struggling with pain or insomnia anymore. Stina Stringer

About two years ago I suddenly experienced a collapse of my whole body/self. My energy was completely gone. I was suffering from body aches and pains, from headaches, nervousness, depression, anxiety, and sleep problems. I did saw a number of doctors and even specialists suggesting a variety of medications. The naturopathic doctor that I found later referred me to Isabelle for CranioSacral Therapy. I improved slowly but steadily, to the point that I could get chiropractic treatments again. Thanks to those three therapists I finally feel like I am back in control and have my life back. Sometimes your body’s “Inner Physician” (a basic concept of CranioSacral Therapy) needs a little help to control and repair things if they get out of hands. George Margetan

Two years ago, my son Brett, 15, was involved in a serious car accident in which he sustained a broken pelvis and a traumatic brain injury. The injuries caused weak motor control in the right side of his body. Eighteen months later he started CranioSacral Therapy with Isabelle. After just three months, his occupational therapist noticed a significant improvement in the coordination on the right side of his body. Brett has also commented that he is able to keep “on task” better at school. Best of all for him, he has really improved on his performance in all his track and field events. CranioSacral Therapy is helping Brett recover faster from all his injuries.
