Barbara is an alumni of University of Maryland and was awarded her degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh. She began her clinical work in a comprehensive rehabilitation setting while acting as Clinical Field Instructor for the Univeristy of Pittsburgh. She continued post graduate studies in orthopaedic and manual therapy seminars while working in sports clinics and out-patient orthopaedic hospital based settings until opening her private practice in Wilmington, Vermont in 1989.
Barbara has continued her clinical education through courses in varying approaches to joint and soft tissue manipulation, Muscle Energy, CST and Cranial Fluid Dynamics, Process Acupressure, Zero Balancing, Spirituality and Healing, Neural Mobilization and Energy Mirrors.
Barbara began as a teaching assistant for the Barral Institute in the Visceral Manipulation curriculum in 1993, joining the teaching team as a Visceral Manipulation teacher in 2006. She began teaching in the Neuromeningeal curriculum for the Barral Institute in 2008.
Barbara owned and managed her group private practice, Physical Therapy Plus, LLC in Wilmington, Vermont from 1989 until August of 2013 when she transitioned to an solo private practice, LeVan Physical Therapy, LLC of Wilmington, Vermont. She continues to provide physical therapy services to children and adults utilizing a wholistic integrative model.
