EXPLANATION OF DIFFERENT MODALITIES:
Relaxation or Swedish Massage:
Swedish massage is a classic western massage technique, a system of long strokes, kneading and friction techniques on the more superficial layers of the muscles. Even though the pressure is relatively light, this treatment has many therapeutic benefits, including reduced muscle tightness, increased blood flow, increased muscle tone, improved oxygenation to the muscles, and, of course, relaxation.
Therapeutic Massage:
A combination of Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy (also known as Myotherapy, Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy or Neuromuscular Therapy), Myofascial Release, P.N.F. stretching (Proprioceptive Neuro -muscular Facilitation) and AIS Stretching (Active Isolated Stretching), most used by today's athletes, personal trainers and other healthcare professionals).
Cranial Sacral Therapy:
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle form of manipulation (pressure is just about the weight of a nickel) of the CranioSacral system. Clients are fully dressed and no oil is used. Clients report feeling deeply relaxed during treatment.
PLEASE VISIT THE UPLEDGER INSTITUTE AT WWW.UPLEDGER.COM!
Reflexology:
Developed by William Fitzgerald in the 1900's in the USA, but known in China as a healing therapy for many thousands of years. It is a manual therapy exerted with pressure on different zones of reflex (feet and hands) corresponding to organs or parts of the body.
Chair Massage:
Chair Massage is specifically suited to relieve stress in high-tension areas (shoulders, arms, neck and back). Chair Massage is a short massage (usually 10-30 minutes or as per client‘s request) of a client sitting in a special, portable massage chair. The client remains fully clothed and no oils are used.
